CHIESA DEL SANTISSIMO CROCIFISSO

Designed in the XVIII century by Giovanni Biagio Amico, with a single nave is a radiant exultation of glory to the divinity through a profusion of ornate decoration culminating in the grand main altar where Christ on a silver cross is to be found, a copy of the original lost in 1887.
Its aesthetic particularity led the Frenchman Houel, at the end of the seventeenth century to judge it one of the most beautiful churches in Sicily saying it was“ As lovely as a lounge”
