CHIESA MADRE

Dedicated to Pope San Silvestro, it has ancient Swabian origins.  In 1547 it was judged insufficient for the growing population so next to the primitive construction, a church of larger dimensions was built, then reorganised in the XVII century to finally assume a basilica plan type with three aisles divided by eight monolithic columns and rounded arches.
The stout external mass and the rigid plastered façade with recent superimpositions is contrasted with the inside which is rich in stuccoes, paintings, polychrome marble and wooden statues
