CHIESA DELLA MADONNA DEL GIUBINO

Built between 1721 and 1734, the rigid decorum of its exterior contrasts its vibrant and sinuous inside. It has one nave and an elliptical shape, with barrel vaults, designed by Giovanni Biagio Amico from Trapani. Amongst its delicate decorations and the sinuous lines there are some nice sixteenth-seventeenth century paintings and in the vestibule, a Madonna degli Angeli con Santi (1617), attributed to the madonite painter the so called Zoppo di Gangi - Lame man of Gangi. On the main altar is a late 1500s marble altarpiece, object of ancient veneration, in the centre is la Vergine del Giubino, co-patron saint of the city.
