CHIESA DI SAN GIULIANO
Built in 1070 the authorization of Roger the Norman, it is one of the first churches to be built in Erice. The church was erected in honour of Saint Julian who the Normans gave merit for the victory against the Muslims who had conquered the citadel. From then on the saint, also called “the liberator” is the protector of the city. It was rebuilt and widened at the beginning of the collapse of the central nave in the twentieth century. In 1770 the bell tower in pure Baroque style was built.
