SITO PREISTORICO UTC (UFFICIO TECNICO COMUNALE)

On the site of the ex-monastery of San Francesco d’Assisi today there is a building initially intended as a school, which houses the Ufficio tecnico comunale- Town technical office (Utc). The remains of three bells dating back to the mid bronze age  (between the end of the XV and the beginning of the XIII centuries B.C.), are visible in the interior courtyard, denominated sito preistorico Utc-Utc prehistoric site. The excavations carried out in 1998  also brought to light torches, cooking slabs, burnt and broken animal bones and food remains. Fragments of ceramics of the facies of the mid bronze age of Thapsos (Siracusa) have also been discovered.
